8 year practicing mx starts...

Make sure he has his RPM's up, as well as shifting a bit sooner. Also, tell him to squeeze as tight as he can with his legs. Make sure they're as tight against the bike as they can get. Dont want to see day light between!

Otherwise, they look good!

I got a dollar that says if he shifted within the first 10 feet he'd be faster....

You are right....He looked at this thread with me and appreciates all the feedback!!!čĹŹ

It's a pretty big deal for an 8 year old to see comments about his video.

Thanks to all!

You don't always want to bring your feet up until you are really about to shift. You want to get as far out the gate until you need to shift. Getting back on the pegs early can cause your bike to fish-tail around. I don't have speakers so I can't tell about the shifting. It could be a little different than a 250f. Also, if he isn't doing this already, let out the clutch to where it just barely starts to grab. Hold in the front brake a little bit to keep your bike from edging forward. This compresses the front suspension and reduces wheel spin on the start. When the gate drops, just pin it.
