09 crf450r stalling at speed

I have a 09 crf45r which has been running awesome until this weekend. After riding for a while with the bike hot, the throttle cuts out like it has run out of gas. I start it back no problem but it then cuts out after 5 to 10 seconds of riding.

At first I thought it might be a fuel filter/pump problem so I took that apart and cleaned etc... the started back up and it seemed fine. About 30mins into my next ride the same problem started happening again.

Not sure what it could be now?

I don't think than cleaning that filter really helps,if it were me I would buy the fuel filter kit and try that.

I'll second the that. The filter has many layers and back flushing it may remove particles from the outer layer, it does nothing for the inner layers. After it has dried, cut it open and have a look. Replace the filter.

Thanks for the advice. I ordered the filter kit and will replace. Will let you know if it works.

Give that a whirl, just don't be suprised if you need a new pump.

I hope not. I've been told the fuel pump is basically just a small motor that either works or doesn't. But you may be right. We'll see. Thanks.

Just to let you know that changing the filter worked. The old one was black
