yz250f cam chain guides

Hey guys Im in the process of rebuilding my 06 250f, and I'm just about done. Im in the process of throwing the cams back in but Im having problems with the exhaust side cam chain guide. Im not sure if its not inserted right or something but it keeps blocking the way of the exhaust cam. The tip of the guide sits just below the machined edge of the head. Thanx

there is a cut out on between the cylinder head, and the cylinder where you push the guild into place. more then likely its not placed correcty. if its in the groove you shouldn't beable to move the guild

I shown a flash light down the head to see where the guide fits in, and its pretty obvious where it goes, but once you try and put it in, its hard to tell if its in the cavity. Should you be able to get the chain guide into the motor with the head and cylinder attached to the motor? Cause thats what im trying to do. Thanx

the only way to get it in is to have the cylinder head off and drop it into the groove.
