99rmrider Posted March 25, 2010 just have your cylinder bored over sized and get an oversized piston for it, thats it you could have it sleeved if you wanted but there is no point just costs more money.
91RM250 Posted March 25, 2010 thanks for reply would i need to tell them the size to bore it to?
aaront Posted March 25, 2010 If it has already been sleeved then the shop can tell you what oversize to get. Then they will hone for fit.

You cant just bore out a nikasil coated bore and stick a bigger piston in. Cast aluminium would not work well as a cylinder wall! If you go the sleeve option you will end up with a cast iron sleeve which will wear out much quicker than stock bore coating. Best bet is to send it away to a specialist cylinder repairer/replater and should come back as good as new. There are a few of them around so do your homework and dont just go on price alone.
