KcDavis My Ride Posted March 26, 2010 Is it the same kind of pipe you had on before or a completely different pipe? You usually have to change the jetting up a little when you put different/after market pipes on. And most pipe manufacturers have recommended jetting. haydenjsle Posted March 27, 2010 I run a FMF Fatty Gold pipe on my 97 WR250--when I was running the stock Mikuni VM carb, I stepped all the way up to a 410 main jet and down on my pilot to a 35. It pulled longer and harder on the top end and ran cleaner and crisper on the bottom end. Pipe aside--these bikes come jetted way lean on the main from the factory and a little rich on the pilot. Adjust your needle height and air screw as needed. Don't base your jetting on a new pipe--rather how it runs at your altitudes and conditions--use the factory jetting as a starting point.
