New Corbin seat doesnt fit my Clark tank - Why ??

Recommended Posts

AHHH

I just bought a Corbin off ebay. It cost a small fortune.

It fits my stock tank perfectly but it won't go on my Clark tank. The Clark tank is steeper.

My stock seat fits the Clark as it's flexible but the Corbin seats are ROCK SOLID based and the tank profile is steeper than stock..

Anyone else have this problem ???

I wonder if its the seat or the tank ?????

Any fixes ?

Looks like you have a choice to make - comfort or range...

Don't give up, it'll work, mine was a PTA the first couple times also but now it just slides on.

Trust me, they fit together.

all you need to do is shorten the aluminum tab on the Tank.....by maybe 1/8" 👍 thats all I had to do to mine🤣

I was trying for about 2 hours.. Tried all sorts of things.

I removed the tab on the tank , made no difference.

I removed the 2 front mounting feet on the seat , made no difference.

I removed the seat bolt brackets , made no difference.

The angle between the tank and the frame is totally different to the very rigid seat..

The reason for my pessimism is that I hear some early seats or the early tanks wouldnt mate.

What is the seat pan made of..... If it`s plastic......Take a heat gun to it...

S L O V L Y heat it....fit it.....heat it.....until you get the desired results.....

I would do that, I really would. However, it would wind up being a burned and twisted wreck that would have to be trashed, instead of sold to recoup the fundage...

Without the tank on, the seat will sit as it should.

With the tank on, it wont forward enough for the seat bolt holes to line up.

The top of the seat sits very tight to the tank and I would need 1cm of flex to get it to sit properly.

Are all of Corbins seat pans the same ????? There is a patent date on the seat of "2007" so it must be fairly new.

OK !! I've got it to fit.

I've had to shorten and bend the tab on the Clark tank and also take a large hammer to the locating tab on the bottom of the seat.

It's very tight and auwkard, but it WILL go on (just) !!

What a piece of crap 👍
