chopper61 Posted March 28, 2010 Yes you can use the R tank on your X. It will fit without modification other than you'll need to use the bracket from the front of the X tank or else you can use the bracket from the R and then drill and tap a new hole in the frame in the correct location. You can also swap the fuel lines, tank fitting, and petcock from the X if you want to retain the reserve feature.

tvalliere220 My Ride Posted March 28, 2010 why are 250r's so much skinnier? than a 250x
chopper61 Posted March 30, 2010 why are 250r's so much skinnier? than a 250x The R models have less capacity thus they are "skinnier".

Hit_the_set Posted March 30, 2010 The tank sticks out over the frame and that's what makes it wider. The R tank sits inside the frame.
