clarkie322 Posted March 27, 2010 The clutch on my 07 sxf 250 started to slip a bit today. It was mainly at the top end when accelerating in 5th or 6th from a slow speed. Ive not had it to bits yet but just wondering if anyone had ideas what it may be, plates or springs? or is it worth replacing the lot and if so what kits are good for the money? cheers Alex
CJBROWN Posted March 27, 2010 How many hours, and what kind of oil are you running? Sounds like you need a clutch pack.
clarkie322 Posted March 27, 2010 ive done around 5 - 6 hours on it. Only had the bike about a month, but since last rebuild its done around 15 hours, but not sure on the clutch. I use 10w 40 putoline dx4 engine oil and change it every 4-5 hours ( due a change)
VilleKTM Posted March 27, 2010 The plates are gone. Change them all - both drive and driven. It wouldn´t hurt to change the springs either. You can buy a complete OEM repl. pack with springs and all.
