throttle cable holder threads missing

I purchased an 07 CR125 a couple months ago and as typical with this model bike ran way rich. After plenty of TT research, I decided to go one size up from the stock needle. After I changed the needle and tried to put the throttle cable holder back in I noticed the bottom half of the threads on the cable holder were missing.

Anyone have this happen before? I tried to examine the throttle valve to see if the threads inside were also messed up but it was hard to tell. I obviously need a new cable holder but any opinions on needing a new throttle valve.

Also, any harm in riding before the new part comes in? I rode it for 5 minutes after the carb adjustments just to make sure it ran (don't have alot of jetting experience) and everything seemed fine.
