SKTMithyEXC Posted March 28, 2010 My trusty has 47hours of woods riding on it. How many hours in the real world would you run before give it an overhaul? I have a piston, rings and cam chain to go in. I shimmed the valves at 40 and they had closed ever so slightly.
oglejust Posted March 29, 2010 i wouldnt do it till it needs valves, or until u have a problem with it
801pe Posted March 29, 2010 I am doing mine right now, @ 100 hrs. The piston looks really good for the hours(almost no wear), but i did have quite a bit of blow by, i would imagine its from worn out rings. The cam chain is not stretched or kinked, so i will keep an eye on it. I would at least replace the rings at 50 hrs. E
JMoto84 Posted March 29, 2010 I replaced rings at 50hrs and everything was mint inside no signs of wear. Now I'm at 110hrs and it's ready for new piston, rings and intake valves.
