okietech Posted March 29, 2010 So how do i know what spring i have and what i need. I have a 98 YZ400f and with gear i go 260lbs. The bike is beating me up. mywifefarts Posted March 29, 2010 Using a spring rate tester would be ideal. If the springs are stock I would think you would need to go up at least a few rates. Race tech's website has a rate calculator you can use to help determine what will work well for your specific weight. Many Question of their accuracy but it will get you close none the less. oztrails Posted March 29, 2010 Goin' out on a limb here.....guessing the bike is kicking you in the arse 'cos it has no rebound damping....cos it's never had a shock service and the oil is like black water, providing no damping whatsoever.
