1998 rm 125 no front brakes

Recommended Posts

I have a 1998 rm 125. I cant get the front brakes bled. I've bled a lot of fluid through the system and still barley have any lever. I've used a vaccum bleeder and also tried the regular way of bleeding. The brakes work but the lever has to be pulled all the way to the bar and still arent great. I think I either need a master cylinder or a caliper but don't know how to tell.

Remove the master cylinder from the handle bars and hold them straight up from the caliper. Tap on the line to get all the air up to the master cylinder. Tilt the master cylinder to get the air to go into the cylinder while tapping. Put the unit back on the bars and squeeze the lever slowly then let it slip out of your fingers so it shoots outward. It will force the air at the top of the line into the master cylinder when the fluid "decompresses" back into the master cylinder. Sometimes you have to bleed at the banjo bolts at top and bottom to get all the air out.
