kx250f37 Posted March 29, 2010 I'm trying to replace the stock rear linkage arm with a pro circuit. How the heck do I get the bolts off the rear linkage? Those are on so tight. I tried an air ratchet but no luck. Are these reverse threaded? Any suggestions?
ridintolive Posted March 29, 2010 You need 2 wrenches, one on each side. Yes they are tight but they will come. Air ratchet will never undo them, it can only put out maybe 35ftlbs of torque. Use a actual ratchet or wrench. Cheers man
kx250f37 Posted March 29, 2010 yes those guys are on tight - looks like I'll need a breaker bar as I tried the ratchets/wrenches.
ridintolive Posted March 29, 2010 soak them in some penetrating oil and use the breaker bar. Sounds like they got a little tight on ya. Sometimes tight isn't a good thing, ahahahahahahha. Cheers
numroe Posted March 30, 2010 (edited) Normal threads. Since so tight or corroded then perhaps you should take everything apart on the link and rocker, and re-pack all bearings properly. i mean tight threads, so perhaps also dry bearings. kx250f37 Posted April 2, 2010 got it by eating several power bars - consume 1/2 hr before working on bike and they came off real easy. 👍
