JamesG1019 Posted March 29, 2010 I usually keep the tires at 11 psi for sand tracks.
284 Posted March 29, 2010 I usually keep the tires at 11 psi for sand tracks. Higher psi like 12.5-13 would be better for a sand track. More psi = harder tire + less sidewall flex = more traction on a soft track. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.
uspatriot Posted March 30, 2010 Lower psi like 10.5- 11 would be better for a sand track, Less psi = softer tire + more surface area to hook up with the sand and a bigger foot print. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.
D-K Posted March 30, 2010 You are both correct.👍 It depends on the stiffnes of the tire to begin with, they are not all equal. Start high and test ride, then lower it in increments untill you find a good compromise.
DMauro Posted March 30, 2010 dunlop use to have their recomandations on there web site. you run a little higer in sand so the tire can bite deeper. you want more surface on hard slippery surface. i never run under 12psi or i will get a flat.
jamey1e Posted March 31, 2010 I've always ran 10 to 11 in the sand but DK brought up a good point and I think I'm going to try alittle higher tomorrow. We'll see what happens.
WannaBeRacer425 Posted April 1, 2010 11-12 for me. But sometimes if I run it to low on a rough situation, TO ME it feels like it grips to good and responds to every bump or rut. Then ill put it up to about 13-
