ecko813 Posted March 30, 2010 alright, so one of my fork seals is leaking a wee bit on oil, one friend said it aint a big deal, other friend said i should fix it real soon either way, i wanna get it done, so i ask you guys for the lowdown ive had my bike 2 yrs, pretty new to workin on it, i know how to keep it maintained and such but this is something ive never done, just wondering if you guys have any input on how to replace a fork seal, or possibly a link to an article that explains how as always, all responses are appreciated thanks in advance
twalker2 Posted March 30, 2010 same thing was happening with my fork seals, cleaned them out and their good as new. you have to remove the dust seal then chase them out with a very thin feeler gauge just working it around the whole tube. dont remember the size but around the size of a piece of paper (possibly thinner). they make a tool i think called a seal saver? not exactly sure but they do sell them. check the TT store might be in there
