Leaking fuel

Recommended Posts

I need some help guys. Just did the top and bottom end on my rm125. Got it all together tonight and I kicked and kicked and it won't start. When I pulled the plug to check for spark it was wet so it must be getting fuel, and it had spark when I checked. When I turn on the fuel petcock the vent line coming off the bottom of the carb (float bowl?) leaks a stream of fuel. What does this mean? Time to set the float height?

yea, the float height is off, their is a tab, tang, on the floats, you have to bend it to adjust the float height, and hold at a 45 degree angle, the seam of the floats sould line up with the top of the carb at a 45 degree angle, check manual to make sure. Clean the jets also with compressed air and water while your at it. Inspect reeds to make sure their good anyway.

Just had this happen to me and it had nothing to do with nothing like that!

Was running fine and not leaking and was switching gas and drained the carb and tank.

Filled it back up and it leaked like crazy!

Apparently the float dropped down far enough to allow the float needle to dislodge or it happend somehow.
