WouldsAssassin Posted March 31, 2010 Send me a PM when you're thinking of going. I'll do the same. I may have a small group in Sept, but otherwise I may be making a solo trip or two.
Micfasto Posted June 18, 2010 I am heading up to Flagstaff on July 10th and 11th. I know of some trails up there but would like to find some more single track. If anyone would like to meet up that weekend or share some trail info let me know.
SS109 My Rides (3) Posted June 18, 2010 You might talk with the guys over on Arizona Trail Talk. I know there is a member in Kingman right now looking to start a club and there are a ton of guys who ride up in Flag.

borlo Posted June 22, 2010 Flag is shut down now due to the fire. Well, Wing Mtn and the airport are still open but it is dry dry dry. Let's not ride here until the rains start. I'd hate for the wingnuts to have any more reason to get the forest circus to ban us outright.
Micfasto Posted June 22, 2010 I kind of figured that. Hopefully rain will come soon and shut the fires down.
thebleakness Posted June 23, 2010 Yeah it's super dry up here right now. It's been dry like this for a few weeks. This was a few weeks ago and I don't even want to imagine what it's like now. The fire is sad though, that's right in the area of the challenger and sugarloaf trails.
borlo Posted June 23, 2010 Yeah Janick, Stuart and I rode on Sunday (when we saw you drive by his place after our ride) and it was so so dry that even before we saw the fire we both said that that would be our last ride in the woods until it started raining. Yup, looking at the fire map and looking at the fire itself...challenger trail is gone gone gone.
MX-WFO Posted June 23, 2010 F-ing camper that started that fire. I am so pissed off right now have been for days. I love the Flagstaff area, spent many years up there going to school and working, not to mention riding my MX bikes. Lets hope some rain falls and helps us out.. Fire is good for the forests, but not when its started by a man. PS I am a Professional Geologist and have a degree in Forestry also. I would love to meet up for a ride with you and camp out for a few days, PM me and let me know the details, IF it opens up.......

redrooster65 Posted June 24, 2010 Yes Sean that was likely me. We had a large group spread way out, I was likely the last one trying to catch up after we got seperated. The two behind me were turning back. The gem of that ride was lower Arrastra. That is a sweet bit of newly recovered trail, we will have to do it when it cools a bit. Temps are ok, in the upper 80's this weekend. Keep in touch.
Flagstaff Posted June 25, 2010 Live 100 yards from national forest, challenger approx. 2 1/2 miles straight up from my home. Cant legally access ? for 30 days. Timberline, chose not to evecuate. Trail is probably fine now, but major erosion when rains come?
