weak front brake

Recommended Posts

after riding my ktm 300 for a while and jumping back onto my kx i notice how weak the front brake is on the 2kx, what options are out there for front brakes on these? i've heard some whispers of honda MC and caliper, or is it possible to retro-fit brembo mc and caliper to the kx's mounting points?

If you find a cheap Honda M/C, go for it. People say it makes a difference.

KTM brakes are hard to top though.

New pads and a good back-bleed usually makes them good again.

Remember to clean and lube the lever pivot too. If the contact point between the lever and the piston is worn and "gritty" it will not feel good.

There are levers with a bearing in that place.

Try changeing to a steel braided line first.

That can help, but Honda does not have a steel braided one. Maybe they have a better plastic tube?

Yes Hondas have a stronger system. A steel line will make a night and day differance on both.Specially if the brake line is old and expanding.

When does the brake line get too old?
