bartender Posted March 31, 2010 Hey there, I recently picked up a 1979 XR500 for a steal, so I've been going through it and doing what I can to make it mine, so to speak. I've been trying to figure out what to do about the stock exhaust. It's incredibly heavy and rather ugly. The headers are fine, and after a couple hours of wire-wheeling and some layers of header paint look good as new. Anyone know a good, cheap silencer? Doesn't have to be a perfect fit, but close would be nice. Also, if I do go to a different exhaust, what needles would I need and where can I pick them up? I'll post pics when I can.
