Yz250 07-08

i was wondering what the differences are on the 2007 yz250 compared to the 2008. i found a pretty good deal on both years of the bike and was wondering if the 08 was worth paying the couple extra hundred for the newer year

In 08 it got Newer style Nissin front master cylinder just smaller lighter front brake setup shaved a few grams new lighter lower fork axle lugs combined with the new lighter brake caliper, wheel spacers and axle and a slightly different drill pattern on the brake rotors.

yamaha claimed it knocked like 2 lbs off the bike doing this not a big deal to pick one over the other.

I own both, bottom line - there is little difference between the two.

As posted above, the brakes vary a little. The 08 received the 07 250F front brake setup. Lighter caliper and linkage based lever. Its not a bad unit, but your still better off with a Honda brake setup. The wave rotors on the 08 look the part, but wear pads quicker than the solid 07 units.

Aside from this there really isn't any difference between the two bikes. Granted the 08 brakes are better than the 07, but you'd be better off buying the 07, grabbing some Honda brakes and pocketing the difference.

Unless of course you've fallen in love with the 08 sticker kit ?

Oh yeah, as stated above, the wheel spacer arrangement on the 08 is different from the 07. This is a real bugger especially if you plan on running a Rekluse e-axle. Rekluse don't have any intention on upgrading their product to suit the later model wheel spacer arrangement (so they told me).
