Red Coolant

Recommended Posts

I going to do the loctite fix today. And I got some red coolant (G30) for my car.

Which is made for aluminum engines, and since the DRZ engine is mostly aluminum i was wondering if it OK to use it?

And how much coolant am I supposed to fill up?

I flushed my radiator and replaced the coolant last June. It was also red. From memory it was Toyota coolant.

According to the instructions it required a 50/50 mix with water (I used distilled water). Bear in mind that where I live it is unlikely to ever get below freezing point.

It was actually the local Suzuki dealer that told me to use that brand.

No issues so far.

I filled my rads yesterday. I decided to try Bronco's method of bleeding. You just fill and cap, then tip the bike to both sides (almost laying down), top-off again, repeat. It was done after three cycles. It's a little aerobic but less mess and more surefire.
