tnat1 My Rides (2) Posted April 1, 2010 I was diagnosed with pnemonia about 3.5 weeks ago, i just started feeling better this week, ive had 2 doses of the 5 day z-pack, i still have some light congestion in my chest. Today is the 1st day i went riding or tried to ride, the most i could do was 5 mins and i was so out of breath it was unbearable, my pace was about 40-50% of my normal race pace. Is this normal, i haven't felt this bad as long as i can remember. any suggestions as to why i would feel this bad and any recovery training you could recommend? DrMark Posted April 2, 2010 This stuff takes a long time to go away enough to return to sports. I would start with some light spinning on the stationary bike, and build up on that.

davbrucas Posted April 6, 2010 Zpack for pneumonia? I guess you had pneumonia wink. Maybe you are being undertreated and still have an infection? I would ask your doc for levaquin instead...but, like Dr Mark said, it takes several weeks to recuperate after something like this.
brtngrss Posted April 7, 2010 3 weeks after I had pneumonia I was able to push my bike to the end of the road, kick it over and ride it straight back to the garage. Unable to put it on the stand so I leaned it against the wall and just made it to the couch... Nothing makes you appreciate being able to breathe more than breathing and not getting the oxygen you need. Not enough air and you feel like a pile of cow crap a train skidded through... 👍
