Takegawa PE28mm carb jetting??

Recommended Posts

I've got a Takegawa PE28mm carb running a Takegawa 124cc Stage 3 kit for a XR100 motor. This is for roadracing, so not sure if that makes a differance?

Anyway, the carb came with a 52P and 135M! It didn't run good, so I put in a 35P and 115 main and it runs better down low, but falls flat on its face on the top end. That means it needs a smaller main jet right?

As it is now, it back fires on decel, so that means it is too lean already right??? Do I change out the pilot jet to a fatter pilot or what?

What are some jet settings for this carb, if anyone is running one?

Thanks

I've never ran one of those carbs, so take it for what it's worth. Try going up on the main if it is backfiring. Possibly riching up the needle too.

Well.. Today I took it to the track and dialed it in.. 40P and 108M with needle clip one down from very top. Seems o run good, plug showed a little rich, but I would rather have it a little rich then too lean to help keep it cool.

Here is a video and pic of my plug;

and the plug...
