Comparative Enduro 4T 250

Gas Gas EC 250 F

Sweet, more sweet that you can not. The motto of the EC 250 F is this. The latest Gas Gas on which we rested our behinds was, on the last two times the 300 number, a real horse race, ready to devastate the extreme ends of the earth. The younger sister to four times, however, has a different personality in every way. Gentle, docile, unless you have the need to confront with the timing, half amazing: a real climber. You can tell already putting on the bike away: the riding position is different, it is doomed to comfort with a posture of "dachshund." Just this peculiarity helps not just when the trail forces you to constantly frolicking. We have said above, if you look for the personal challenge with the stopwatch this bike is not for you, but if you love turn, then you will find the perfect D. In addition to a comfortable position, in fact, has an electric start that works great, the bike it always starts fine. Without hesitation.

The Yamaha engine, also mounted on the WR is not the ultimate in technology, but is still valid, since anyone, even a few years ago, we battle for the World Class E1. It is powerful, it is true, but has great usability and linearity in supply. One feels, however, had never the right gear, a first a bit 'short and a second one, a bit' too long. Up to a certain speed the soft suspension absorbs the shock of the stone well then, however, begin to go into crisis, penalizing stability.

No doubt the character of the engine goes perfectly with the characteristics of the chassis and the clutch is maintained on the same line: When you start to "crank it" tends to harden immediately.

HM Honda CRE 250R F

Red power. This color is synonymous with power. Over the company has become its symbol. Coca Cola, Marlboro, Ferrari. In our world, however, the "reds" are the Honda. This bike is the starting point that allowed Mika Ahola to get their hands on the last two titles in the E1 class. There is so much quality on this CRE, the version that comes from cross bike.'s Sister carries all the dynamic attributes, from one sense of lightness, a stuff that only she possesses.

It is lean and fast to enter the curve, its frame is built for people quickly. When you're still on the straight with the throttle in hand, you enter the curve with the thought points the channel and you're done, you're inside. Crazy, if you are not used, its amazing responsiveness.

The injection engine, however, proved to be a bit 'more sluggish than tried to press test at the last stage of World Enduro 2009. Remember? The CRE was enhanced 250 Alessandro Botturi, used by us as testers.

This probably stems from the fact that the bike was used in our current comparative brand-new. Unicam fact is that you show a little 'soft' when you go to retrieve the gas. To understand, in situations where lens prompt response is needed to overcome an obstacle, such as a trunk, you'd need a flash when there's more, the Hondina missing a bit. 'Of course the situation may improve with a discharge less convoluted without secondary air. In any case, wanting to make a comparison with the Honda 250 carburetor, we can say that, rather than the low, got lost a little 'substance nell'allungo. The exchange continues to be that of the Cross. Where to go with KTM and Husky on the second, with the CRE to put you first. But this we know.

Husqvarna TE 250

I still remember when I saw for the first time that small engine mounted in a frame ... its not much left of that space that you could mount another inside. It was December 2007 and took him in the race Bartosz Oblucki nell'indoor, all'Olympiahalle of Monaco of Bavaria. It has come a long way that bike. After less than two years, Antoine Meo some more 'bang and almost makes you put in your pocket the title of E1.

Here, the Husky 250 is a daughter of this project. It should be a great asset and the TE, cyclists, and really interesting. The Kayaba fork does his job better. It's a little 'softer compared to Honda, Suzuki and KTM, but this does not affect the stability, indeed. It is this strictly on the fast, really on top, to inspire more.

Apt weight distribution, although the front gives the impression of being a bit 'heavier than the rear. Once in the saddle on a bike seems to be a bit 'bigger than the competition (a phenomenon observed, albeit to a lesser extent also on the Suzuki). In all likelihood, this feeling comes from the conveyor, the most open of rivals. The engine is there, but goes a bit 'in crisis when it comes to overcoming an obstacle or when you need a flash more. It is important to keep it "clean" gone flat, as if the minimum was not right. But when the path is open and can open it becomes very compelling.

Although power and torque curves are very linear, the engine has "the strength of the new TE 250 is all in stable quality, strabilian you" that you would expect from dispensing a fluid injection engine.

Ultimately, the essence is: who will tip the absolute right of the TE chassis, but wants more beer engine. It will be fantastic, however, for those not from the pellet trials: the first short and the stud (two things Neither Honda or Suzuki can achieve), will make a difference. The Husky secret is this: buy it and go have fun.

KTM 250 EXC-F

There are great doubts on the whole KTM deserves the first five in the rankings. Makes it great for two reasons. The first is the ease with which is led to love. It's so intuitive that even those who feel good is not. The second one is the enormous speed that can pull in experienced hands. Is a product that has now reached full maturity.

The driving position is confirmed As Well, a valuable ally in the quest for maximum benefit. Even the suspension would not be outdone: interventions made in 2009 and subsequent amendments to the calibration model year 2010, have improved the overall behavior of the bike, especially in terms of stability. Progress is noticeable is the fast, whether the medium-slow. While the first F-EXC tended a bit 'to close, to hear the "Sassetti" under the wheels, now transmit high security. N short, it is less effort when you go for a walk but at the same time, it was more significant when trying time. This well-balanced structure is also able to ensure the F-EXC grip material. The bike is "sitting" on the back is properly, ensuring great traction. Slimy bottom, the root, planted on the stone, the Kappa's about making a difference.

And the engine? Although a true Enduro and not a "cross with the lights," is really strong. His greatest merit is not the power (but at the top), but the push ubiquitous. The spacing of the exchange (with the first short) and the hydraulic clutch are blameless before the class. The EXC-F seems to have reached perfection is easy, handy, intuitive and quality should not be underestimated: a little tired. Put it where you want and the delivery of the engine, always ready, helps a lot. Open the throttle and she does what you want. Everything else falls behind.

Suzuki RM-Z 250 E

The RM-Z as Honda, derived from motocross bikes. This one's DNA also on endurizzata version, you hear everything. It is a thoroughbred, no frills. The others have the equipment and the "block" lights? Her no, she is limited to a simple switch on the right side of the headlight mask. Do you understand, here is just what you need, nothing more, nothing less. There is no instrumentation, it is true, on the other hand there is a paramotor aluminum protective like no other, and an Akrapovic exhaust so cool. Moreover we know, the importer Suzuki, Enzo Valenti, loves things to be done well.

Like the other cross with the lights, even by MY 2010 RM-Z has gone electronic injection. Very different, however, grant. Duemmezzo The Suzuki at low and medium has great strength and an exciting character, but tends to get a bit of speed 'to drop, murando senior.

The response to the throttle, unlike the Honda, you really convincen-L. So a very interesting engine for the Enduro, despite the first long to make it more suitable than the handcuffs that true amateurs. The thing that not all convinced, is the ease with which it tends to fade in the slower parts. Luckily, the engine turns on again without problems, provided the appropriate use of the hot start lever. In short, the Suzuki, but Honda still more: just half tread.

A level bike, the yellow has a behavior opposite to each other Jap. The RM-Z has a great stability over the medium-fast and excellent direction, even the stones and the channel. Pay pledge, compared to red-side maneuverability in tight. Guilt also setting a bit 'low handlebar, which forces the front to charge more. The cornering is good, because the curves with the channel Suzuki comes in from bad. When you're inside, however, laid down, it tends to run away a bit 'more.

FINAL CONSIDERATIONS

Enduro strange discipline. With the same word indicates the activity of those who go on Sunday to run with the determination of Ivan Cervantes, but also to those who instead mounts the bike to go to eat polenta with mushrooms in a mountain lodge. The natural consequence of such reasoning? The perfect bike for one, at the same time, it can not meet the expectations of others.

Here, for this KTM deserves the first absolute position, and sen-ing any kind of doubt that the EXC-F is able to combine two different souls in the same motion. Quickly with the fast, easy-going with Fermon Sunday, a true prodigy.

After her, not the enduro pellet with the stopwatch prefer the Husqvarna and all its inherent comfort, from start to first electric short. Those more racing oriented, instead, choose one of two cross endurizzate. Between the two Japanese, the hardest, the desire for something more substantial, both in terms of stability, both the engine, thinking of the Suzuki.

The others, those who want an arrow with which slice the curves, a monster of handling, prefer, eyes closed, Honda.

Between the five of our test bike Gas Gas is the DNA less daring, less devoted to racing. Its strength is the extreme sweetness, in all conditions.

Woohoo Husky got 2nd!!! You'll see in a few years Husky at the top ABOVE ktm, if Husky listens to the people. Wider ratio tranny, Maybe do something like the husabergs to change the CG to make them feel lighter, and they'll be the envy of every bike rider on the planet. Oh and maybe a tad shorter.

What I thought was more impressive is that the TE250 beat out the Suzuki RM-Z 250 E and the HM Honda CRE 250R F which are both built off of their motocross bikes which are popular in WEC competition.

The KTM, Husqvarna and GasGas were all purpose built enduro... my guess is that's why the new Husqvarna TE250 does so well in WEC competition.

The nice thing is it's street legal here in the states where the KTM is not!

So what's that mean for you? It means public land that wasn't accessible for dirt bike riding a couple of years ago is now game.

I've saw a few shootouts from EU magazines in the past years and Huskies always do well in them ... I think it was the TE model that won top honors 2-3 years in a row back a few years ago ... We're all brainwashed here in usa to see and expect and believe the 4 JAP bikes plus the aussie machine (now it seems) are always the best thing going each year ....

For it to finish 2nd place out of a group of hardcore race bikes is pretty impressive!

Agreed. I wonder how a TXC would have placed. Since it has less weight and better forks.
