2008 yz250 run in service ?

Recommended Posts

hi guys im new to here and was just wondering if the run in service is really that necessary on my bike ? u know how your supposed to pull the head off clean the powervalves/high spots on the piston etc ... i had another brand new yz (05) that i done the service on, but i didnt think it was really worth doing. also on the new ktm exc i had (250 2 stroke), it was not necessary. what is your opinion ?

thanx.

You should however go completely through the chassis. Grease all the bearings, Antiseize on all the bolt shanks and threads, use torque wrenches to factory specs. The only bolts I use locktite on are the sprocket, and brake rotors. I have done this on all my bikes and you'll see the differnce when the bike ages. It will feel like new way longer. In doing this I have found stripped/loose motor mount bolts, unoiled airfilters, tranny oil half full etc.
