FCR on DRZ400 vs DR650

Recommended Posts

I'm being a bit nostalgic about my old DR650SM. I currently have a DRZ400SM that I use for trail riding and now commuting to work (about 10 highway miles). The problem is, it feels a bit underpowered and I'm revving the tits off of it. I truly feel like I'm going to blow the motor.

So, is it worth it to invest the money for a FCR39 for the DRZ, or is it better to get another DR650 (which I have a line on) and get an FCR40 for it to use for my commute.

Please let me know your thoughts... and thanks in advance!

Put in some hotcams or E cams and the MRD , and your bike will be a totally different animal . The FCR is another good mod , but very expensive if you buy brand new , and sometimes nearly as expensive when you get one from a different model , then buy parts to make it work . Have a look at gearing aswell , if it is to low then she will rev a bit at speed . The 650 would seem more stable at highway speeds due to its weight , but the 400 will produce more power and be a better play machine , greg
