cr 250 Posted April 5, 2010 on my 01 yz 250f manual it says when i have to do valve adjustment i have to take out decompression shaft, which it then says i have to drain coolant and take off radiator hose is this necessary, i dont want to drain and take off hoses if not anyone else bean(forgot how to spell bean lol) able "jimny" it off Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

cr 250 Posted April 6, 2010 are you sure because the gap between the decompressor and the radiator hose is bloody small. have you guys done this on a manual decomp bike before and managed to wriggle it out, i'am sorry the gap is just tiny but we'll see tommonrow and i'll report back Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
mkporn Posted April 6, 2010 no need to remove the hose. You can pull it part way so you can slide the bucket out. That is based on the fact that you actually have to reshim the exhaust valve. If you don't have to reshim, you don't even have to move the decompression lever. Otherwise, just a little wiggle and it will be far enought that you can get the bucket out.
