patellar tendonitis

Dr. Mark,

I've developed patellar tendonitis and I'm scheduled to go to the hatfield / McCoy trails in less than 3 weeks....Am I in any danger of seriously hurting myself by riding? What should I do to reduce the pain and strengthen the supporting muscles.

stretch the quad and the hamstrings. Eccentric quad exercises on the leg press, also.
