FCR's with the hot start knob

Recommended Posts

Has anyone eliminated it since it's not needed on DR-Z's with electric start?👍

This bothers me too , i have a red one which is kind hiding the choke knob...👍

It gets in the way when you remove the gas tank often. It hits the petcock.🤣 I agree that it makes it harder to get to the choke.

I was just wondering if there was a "block-off" device/bolt/cap to eliminate it. I will look in the Sudco catalog if there's such a thing later.

I was just considering this as well, since my carb has the hot start. I guess there wouldn't be any harm in cutting the know off, right? Have you figured out if there is another option?

You should just be able to un-screw the whole knob. You will still need to block off the orifices off somehow.

Have you figured out if there is another option?

Unscrewed mine off, and a buddy happened to have the actual plastic block-off for it. :bonk: It came in one of the fcr's that he had laying around.

You might want to check with Sudco if there is such a block-off part for that hotstart knob.

Thanks. I meant that if there is nothing else available, you could just cut the knob off, and you wouldn't have to block anything else.

I'll take a look at the Sudco catalog.
