Farmenator Posted April 8, 2010 I'm doing a carb cleaning and the manual says to use compressed air to clean the jets and passages in the carb. All jets accept the (slow jet) have a clear passage down the center throughout the length of the jet. Is this a blockage or is the jet designed that way? Also my bike after sitting a couple months is real hard to start and will "pop" at idle to just off idle speeds. With the choke ON it seems to run better without the "pop, pop, pop" when the throttle is let off. Bike runs great at mid to higher rpms, but won't idle either, just dies and is horrible to re-start. any help is greatly welcome. Farmenator
William1 My Rides (2) Posted April 8, 2010 No, it should be clear all the way throuth. REplace, do not waste the time trying to clean it. You will never get it spotless. Your popping and starting issue is related to a slight build up on the the slow (aka Pilot) jet. Replacing it shoulkd reslve the popping
