pikester Posted April 9, 2010 Hi I have just baught an 86 rm 125 I read in a clymers manual that they suggest a 20:1 fuel oil mixture. this seems like a lot of oil 6.4 oz to 1 gal of gas does anyone here have any helpful input thanks. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

MORE EXPERIENCED than I am to help with this one, however, it does seem like I remember having to run lower oil ratios like this when I was younger. I'm not sure if they just needed that much oil (can't see why they would) or if it has more to do with the fact that todays oils are so much better that the those oils used in the 80's. For example, the book calls for 32:1 on one of our KX85 race bikes, we a premium oil at 50:1, 38:1 on the two YZ85 (their built to be much higher reeving motors than the KX85). I don't know, dude.
