Postalmech Posted April 9, 2010 Cranked my bike yesterday while warming up "CLANK" locked up and coolant started pouring from a crack in the front center area of the cylinder. I'm pretty sure this is going to leave a mark on my bank account. Has anyone out there had this happen or can give me some idea what has happened before i go into this thing? Anyone got any parts or spare complete engines for sale? Thanks, Keith
elan666 Posted April 9, 2010 Not sure what would crack a cylinder. Maybe piston rocking excessively? I'm sure someone else will chime in. Sounds like it's time for a big bore! New cyl's look to be around $200 - another $150 or so for top end parts. Big bores look to go for under $500. Assuming everything else is in good order, should be back in business w/o spending too much.
Postalmech Posted April 9, 2010 Sure hope it's not a broke rod or something crazy like that, cracked the cylinder on the right side also. This thing has never even acted like it had any troubles, valves were recently checked and were supposed to be good. Thank's
