ChrisCorbett Posted April 9, 2010 I have been told to put 1.8 litres in my bike which is about 2 quarts but I read on here that it is 1 quart. Which one is correct??! I have done about 10 miles on the bike with 1.8litres in it and want to know if I have damaged it if I have got too much oil in it. Also I read that you are not supposed to remove the front drain plug (hex head) as it holds the shifter in place? I have been removing both when draining the oil, is the reason for gear shift issues and neutral light coming on? Thanks in advance for advice.
chrispy Posted April 9, 2010 You need to get a skid plate and then drain the oil from the filter and screen holes as this will allow you to not remove the skid plate.

F1ED Posted April 10, 2010 1.8 U.S. quarts = 57.59 U.S. liquid ounces (58 oz.) 1.8 U.S. quarts = 59.95 U.K. liquid ounces (60 U.K. oz) Found this site great for any kind of conversions, whether it be volume or distance. http://www.asknumbers.com/default.aspx
glangston Posted April 10, 2010 When I change oil and filter I use 1.5 liters of oil. Comes right to the middle of the marks on the oil sight glass on my 08 TE 250.
