help me find this bolt

I can't find this bolt anywhere and I don't know how important it is.

Its the bolt right above the foot peg that goes through the plastic chain guard in to the frame. 2004 125 sx

It's a metric bolt - an M6 x 1.0 x 20mm hex head large flange bolt. Any M6 x 1.0 bolt of a suitable length and a penny washer can be used though. Well, at least that's what it is on my 200 and 'd think it would be same on 125.

You can find any part on the bike by searching the OEM micro fiche on several KTM parts sites.

Ha, dunno why the bolt shrunk from M6 in 03 to M5 in 04, but looks like it has. Gary has given the details of the right one:thumbsup:

Just trying to help. Online parts fiche is invaluable. Didn't mean to slight anyone either as there are many more online dealers. Those are just some of the ones I have used, who are good to work with, and have had most parts in stock, and if they don't have it in stock seem to put orders in almost every day. I wish they said what was in stock online. If it is something important or time critical I usually call after ordering or order on the phone to find out if it is in stock. If they have a problem at KTM world they call me.

I would like to support my local KTM dealer. I understand the economy is hard and everyone wants to reduce their inventory, but he puts orders into KTM about once every two weeks, I think, so if they don't have it in stock (which they never have had anything in stock) I am looking at quite a wait. They have to get an order of a certain size before they can put it into KTM so it pays to work with a dealer that does high volume and orders from KTM often.

I hope you have a KTM dealer near you that is better/bigger then mine.

KTM World orders about every two days or a couple of times a weak so they are great. I am sure Munn is similar. Cycle Hutt in Bismarck, ND has also had very good stock and turn around every time I turned to them.

Do you guys know if there is supposed to be a gasket in between the slave guard and the metal it attaches to. I can't find a diagram of the slave guard anywhere

I don't know, but I don't think so. There isn't one on the big bikes.

I think there has to be one because I have a leak coming from there now, and I have all three bolts on pretty tight, almost too tight

All you got is bolt holes there right? No opening into the case.

The inside of the slave cylinder is open to the case and has an o-ring to seal it off. Are you using thread lock on your bolts? The bolt holes may be open into the case.

My KTM slave guard does not have a gasket between guard and slave, but it does have one between slave and case. My middle hole stripped, so I retapped to 1/4" and has worked great ever since.
