Paul47 Posted April 10, 2010 Yes it is. In the old days the bikes had exhaust header rings that were finned, and you used to be able to buy aftermarket rings that had even more exaggerated fins. The aftermarket ones looked kinda hokey, but it seems it was not such a bad idea. I was looking at how the rings could be modified on an XR to provide a bit more cooling at the place it would do best for the engine. Of course, once the heat gets into the rings, can it get back into the engine? Maybe not that much. The header gasket prevents some passage back, and the two studs probably don't carry that much heat. Maybe they dropped the fins for a good reason. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
