Help with new Boyesen reeds!

Hey i just re-beautified my cr250 for racing this year, and I did everything myself... first time too. but i put my reeds in and put the bike back together and noticed that the reed box cover said use locktite with the screws on the reeds... i tightened it to the point that they wanted to start stripping but i didnt use the lock tite... what should i do? will it be okay?

There are little lock washers to stop the screws from backing off. If it's bothering you then take the time to pull out the reed cage and use blue locktite. The whole process shouldn't take more than 1/2 hour max.

overtightening screws that hold reeds can cause the reed ti deform and not lay flush to sealing surface. for my 01 cr250:

- 0.7 ft-lbs torque (barely snug, that's why you must use thread locker)

- max gap between reed and sealing surface on the cage is 0.010" inch
