Teneighty23 Posted April 13, 2010 Anyone seen a store that sells an all black seat cover for the XR650L? IF NO ONE HAS ONE then: how much shaping and sewing would be involved in making your own?
djr01974 Posted April 13, 2010 I have one I'll post a picture tomorrow I have to upload some pictures. I just picked up a nice 97 650L the guy I bought it from took it to a shop to have it done.
Bibleman Posted April 13, 2010 I used vynyl upholstery paint - I forgot the name - maybe Semco? Works GREAT. 3k miles and just a little red is showing through on the sides where the seat wrinkles. A quick blast from the spray can would fix it perfectly. Just a thought. I think they also make some kind of a clear prep/primer product you use first. It ends up looking excactly like black vynyl. Beyond The Pale Posted April 13, 2010 You should have no trouble finding one. I have a black one that I got on ebay for abut $20. It's OK. The GUTS one mentioned is a better product I'm sure. You might end up with a little crease or fold, but I'm sure you could just take a piece of vinyl and stretch it over the seat. No sewing required. I've done it before on motorcycle seats. The price can't be beat.
