Im not positive whats in the RMZ from Suzuki, I know the 06 LTR450 came with Ti valves, which makes me want to ASSume the RMZ has had them long before and still does, but if so, they should be fine.

The biggest thing about valves is how clean you keep your intake. The cleaner that filter stays the less ware on the valves. If they are within spec, leave them alone.

What was wrong with the crank assembly?

I would stick with stock valve train parts. Yep, if your still in spec with no visible signs of wear bolt the head back on, replacing the timing chain may be a good idea while you have it apart. I dont know what the 08 manual says about chain replacement intervals though.
