Spongy front brake help?

Recommended Posts

I got my fork seals changed at my local shop recently and they did a great job. Before this my front brake was amazing and super firm but after I got it back my front brake was soft, spongy, and I had to pull the lever in much farther to get anything and even if I pull it in all the way I can't even get close to as much stopping power as before. I've bled my brake 3 or 4 times now with no improvement at all...what do you guys think?

air bubbles trapped in your caliper? when you bled the brakes did you run all the old fluid out? even if there are no more bubbles old fluid absorbs water and will become squishy. did the shop get fork oil on the brake pads? just a little frok oil on the pads will render your front brake useless, try cleaning the pads with brake cleaner, or get a new set of pads. good luck!
