another question on fork revalve ????

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, i need your experience to confirm something on this, as i done my first DIY revalve last week...

i removed 3 shims out of the 12 x 0.16 high speed compression shims on the convetional xr400 forks as some do with this bike to soften the high speed damping....

question is if you leave the 9 shims left with the space between as is or you mod something for the shims to seat tight when everything is bolted together on the compression bolt to work properly?????

without using spacers behind anything for support and re installing everything back on as it was with less shims on the valve...it seemed that the shims where not tight and there was small air gaps between them

cannot see anything wrong with the bike...just more plusher front end

TIA and sorry for the confusion:thumbsup:
