Some cracks inside where the oil filter is located. Is this normal?

9. Take the new oil filter out of it's packet it should look like this

make sure there are no tears or other imperfections

If you notice "cracks" inside the oil filter cavity when you clean it out.... RELAX.... they are just casting marks... You will find them in the oil filter sump and just about any inside, non finished part of the case.

A: RELAX.... they are just casting marks... You will find them in the oil filter sump and just about any inside, non finished part of the case. They hurt nothing,,, and are just part of the casting process. ๐Ÿ™‚ Some times they will look like cracks, sometimes raised. You may also see these casting marks on the cases. Some of the sides case or coves are worse then others.

Really wish folks would look at the top of the forum and spend a few minutes reading though the DRZ Frequently asked questions sub forum..๐Ÿคฃ
