Magura clutch -leaking

Recommended Posts

Hey all,

Just wondering if this is a common issue with the Magura. I love this clutch and have had it for about 3-4 years on my DRZ as well as my CRF450. However, I just got the DRZ back out for commute duties due to recently selling the CBR6 and I found oil on my handguard. Appears to be coming from the pivot area of my lever from under the rubber boot.

I just ordered $70 worth of parts for rebuilding the thing (including bleed kit and large container of the "blood") -figured what the heck, since I have more than one bike with the Magura.

Is this a common issue?

Is it easy to service?

Anything to look out for when working or installing the rebuild kit?

Thanks in advance,

Mike

I have the Magura on all my bikes. They have been around a long time and are/were standard equipment on KTM's. Never heard of that problem. Some of the early style slves were known to have the push/pull rod snap though.

Servicing it is much simpler than a regular type of master cylinder. A pint of the Blood will last you the rest of your life!
