Super Start Kit and Going Through Batteries

Recommended Posts

I have Eddie's super start kit and love it. The problem is, I've gone through two batteries in 6 months now. I have to admit that I went with the cheaper generic batteries, not the Yuasa YT10S. I took the battery cover off, and saw that the positive and negative posts are loose and not making a solid connection with the cells. If I move the posts, the bike has power, but if I move the posts slightly, no power. I'm 90% sure this is what happened with the previous battery.

My question is, is the reason the batteries are bad the fact that they are not designed for off-road use (90% of my riding is rocky/desert) and bouncing around? Or is it that I got the cheaper knock-off battery?

Any thoughts? Anyone else have this experience?
