Watch the date on your bill of sale, you will have to pay back tax to the date of sale. you have 20 day to pay sales tax,and they dont care what state you paid it in.

You can renew on line but may have to show up in person the first time. Not all rmv offies will do off road regs. The springfield office will, the do not take cash or card, you cannot pay sales tax at rmv.You will pay it around the corrner at another tax office. Think two checks.

I'm going to have to make the trip down and do this as well, can you ride there year round?

All orv use ends on "state land" the third sunday in november,as deer season starts the next day and use on an orv on "state land" is prohibited during the deer season, trail remain closed untill spring.

The the trails open for sleds as soon as we have snow cover. This is all covered in the states web site.

I have never paid sales tax on line,i think you can.

You can get Mass. ATV plates through the mail. I got them in 2009 for my dirt bikes. Here is the application form to mail in: http://www.mass.gov/dfwele/dle/registrationtitlingform.pdf

Here is the Registration Information: http://www.mass.gov/dfwele/dle/instructionspage.htm#ATV

Here is the website that lists where you can ride: http://www.mass.gov/dcr/recreate/orv.htm
