Hotcams st.1 inlet with E exhaust cam

I was going drop in a set of Hotcams St.1 Cams into my stock 2010 E ..

After doing some research I see the E exhaust cam has more lift and duration than the Hotcams EX cam..

So I am thinking just to install the HC st.1 inlet and leaving in the E exhaust cam ...

Has any one tried running this mix setup ?

Would it be a better overall performance setup than the H/Cams in. and ex.

What do you think Eddie?..Will it work ok..?

............... E IN .351 lift 227 dur.... EX .366 lift 243 dur

HC stage 1 IN .358 lift 238 dur..... EX .358 lift 238 dur

I think i read that the stock 2010E cams are like the stock S/SM cams, not 'real' E cams anymore.

I noticed the same thing btw, E ex is wilder then HC ex.

Could be nice combo, esp for BigBore?

Maybe depends on the degreeing, E cams are fixed,

i think we need eddie for the final word on this.

These are the specs for S model cams..V's E model

S IN .334 lift 227 dur ....EX .323 lift 243 dur

E IN .351 lift 227 dur.... EX .366 lift 243 dur

E has more lift..

the confusion is in the US before the E model was discontinued it was nuetered for 07 with S enigine parts and carb.

im pretty sure the aussie E is still a real E. if so yes,your plan is sound but dont expect a huge difference.

craig , i have found a good mod is .. 94 mm big bore , E cams , i have the TRC system [ or MRD ] FCR 39 eddies spec . pro comp uni filter .

i bought a 3000 klm stock E motor and fitted a cylinder works kit .

i am using my FCR 41 at the moment with the above motor for the short term , it is the 41mm from my stroker motor . the 41 over carburates at low/mid rpm but pulls well in the upper rpm . i fitted a 178 main jet instead of the 185mj .

i ran that setup befor the stroker was put in, on a 95 bore ltz, it ran very good

Not going to do many mods to the E...Spent too much $ on my SM....

I have got these HC st.1 Cams sitting in the garage , leftover from my early SM mods..So ,I thought I would put them to use..

So you normally run #185MJ in your 470 stroker motor.?..Thats big...in my 485 I run a #175MJ in summer and #178MJ in winter...

What part of Australia do your live?..I am north of Brisbane....

last year for the real 49 state E was 06. 04 was last year the real E was available in california.they made what was called a 50 state E model which is a E with S/SM motor and carb. this was all that you coul by in cali from 05 to 07 and 07 in the rest of the US.

yeah ... my 41mm was set up by eddie , it ran perfectly

go on ... just do the big bore :smashpc: thats all ~ i promise

Ok Chooken .. The time has come..The top end is finally coming off "the Real E" tomorrow...

I have decided it's time to install the Cylinder Works Big Bore I got from Eddie.....Gunna drop in the hotcams inlet cam while I am there...๐Ÿ‘
