Selling an MT 250, need pricing help

Recommended Posts

Hello, I've got a 1973 Honda Elsinore MT250 that had been "CR'd" by a previous owner. Rebuilt engine in 2008, DG pipe, Mikuni carb, lots of new stuff. It could use an actual Honda seat and number plates. Other than that, it's perfect and runs really well.

I put it on Craigslist and had no bites at the price I paid for it.

Question to all you TTer's, what's this thing realistically worth? I'd like to ballpark it before I relist.

Thanks for the help!

maybe this is why no bites

1974 was first year for mt250

•It came in Custom Silver Metallic with Daytona Orange

•The gas tank, side cover, and headlight shell were silver

•The gas tank top stripe was orange

•The fenders were silver painted plastic

•The exhaust system heat shield was chrome

•The engine was a 248cc piston port single cylinder linked to a 5-speed transmission

•It also used oil injection

•The serial number began MT250-1000001.

My bad on the year. Is there a way I can determine correct year via the VIN?

It has Preston Petty fenders and a Clarke gas tank. As I said, the owner CR'd it...that is removed all the MT stuff; electrics, lights, gas and oil tank and put on the items I listed.
