91/92 yz250

Recommended Posts

Ok so im looking to buy a dirtbike and one that I thought would be ok has come back up for sale. The ad says 95 but it looks 91 or 92 to me. What I want to know is what problems would I find in a near 20 year old bike like weight suspension ect. http://nashville.craigslist.org/mcy/1861427976.html with its real age i think I can get it for around 500.

My plan is to restore the bike and custom cut the plastics like this 92

s a near 20 year old bike will most likely be in dire need of a rebuild.

This all depends on the previous owner. If someone maintains their bike, it should really be as good as it was when it rolled off the show room floor.

To the OP. The only think that has major improvements on these bikes is suspension and brakes. Powerplants are very similar, with small and different changes here and there over time. Power will be very similar to any modern 2 stroke, weight will probably be pretty close to the same as well. If you get it, get the suspension set up for your weight and your style of riding, and you will be good to go. If you get it for $500, then that is a steal that I wouldn't pass up!
