Radiator leaking

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone. I just bought a 2009 YZ450F and took it riding. I high sided it and the left radiator was bent and had a few of the cooling columns flattened. I thought it would be fine still. I took the bike home and now whenever I start it radiator fluid drips out of the breather hose that's just below the radiator cap. Is it a quick fix of just replacing the left radiator or could the added pressure of the fluid somehow hurt the water pump? Thanks.

that is an over flow hose, you might want to take the cap off when it is cold and inspect the gasket under the cap to be sure it isnt kinked or otherwise damaged,as this would allow the coolant to bypass the cap.

with the cap off i would then start the bike and check for bubbles in the radiator, this could be a sign of a bad head gasket

also be sure the radiator is full of coolant,if it is full to the top a small amount of coolant might come out of the over flow.the level should remain near the top though
