Pilot screw & slow jet

Recommended Posts

I have an 08 CRF450 that I purchased new last November. When I turn in the pilot screw the bike does not change at all even with the screw in all the way at the correct RPM.. I have changed the slow jet to a 40 from 42, no difference, also I have adjusted the needle up/down, main jet down to a 168 and no change. The bike seems to not have the bottom end that I need for racing motocross only. Top end it seems fine. Help would be appreciated due to the fact that it really sucks being at a disadvantage when you are trying to race.

try setting your idle down before you try turning in the screw. mine did the same thing, and i couldn't get it to stall out when the RPMs were set at 1700. Set it around 12-1300 and try again.

also, make sure the bike is really warm. then turn in the screw at 1/2 turn increments and ride around to test.

should work.
