My 5 year old, on his 4th ride ever

Recommended Posts

So the video isnt great quality, but I wanted to show off anyways.

We were riding on my MIL's 15 acre ranch in San Martin. Havent taken him to a track yet, but soon. As it is, I have never ridden a track either, so when we do go it will be a first for both of us. We are moving to Folsom, CA in 3 weeks and will be about 6 miles from Prarie City/Hangtown, so I imagine we will hit it up soon.

Anyways, enjoy. Check out him showing off in the last 30 seconds or so and he blows by the great-grandparents. Kid is fearless.

I always love seeing a father and son out enjoying this sport:thumbsup:! Looks like he is picking it up. Thats great. Looks a lot better than my first dirt bike experience(age 15)! My friend (who was younger than I) said to give it a lot of gas, dump the clutch, and hold on. I did it perfectly like he said. I gave it gas, dumped the clutch, held on (while riding my first wheelie) and took off. The only problem was the barbed wire fence 50 yards away:smirk:! Long story short was that I had to buy my first bike(1994 cr125) when I turned 16 and had to hide it at my friends house until I was 18, becuase my parents wouldn't allow it:foul:. Good to see that you are starting him off right, and you are supporting him.

He looks comfortable, but get him out of the habit of looking back. My in laws used to live in San Martin, a beautiful place. Just don't ever call it Gilroy, the garlic capital of the world! Have fun, you're gonna be busy!

Recently moved from the Bay Area to Folsom. Got my little guy out to Prairie City/Hangtown this past weekend. Not bad for his first track day, if I say so myself.

A little update. He has had about 4 "track days" now and is getting really comfortable. I have been working with him to get his butt out of the saddle over jumps, which he is finally starting to understand. Also, but not noticable in the video, getting his foot out in the corners. He's getting there, and having a blast doing it. Forgive the shakey video, by cell phone camera is far from perfect for this sort of thing.
